Visions of Eastend tour will be heading back to Eastend September 26th. The show has been very successful in Regina at the Legislative building.
The Show will be hung in the Eastend Library located on Pottery and Oak Street.
The Visual Arts committee will be preparing an added exhibit with "Visions of Eastend" to go to the Swift Current Museum for Nov 3 2011.

It was such a pleasure to have Marion and Lee stay at the Silver Willow Gallery & Guest house. They are both very kind and thoughtful. The "Just For Fun" art class students work was on display at the time of their stay and they where kind enough to leave words of encouragment on each of my art students comment sheets. The kids will love it.

It was so much fun to be a host for the "Home Routes" home concert series. I loved meeting the very gifted performers and looked forward to each months concert. I have signed up again for the next season which will start in September 2011.

It is very cool that Marion Stegner is coming to visit - such a wonderful opportunity to know Wallace Stegner a little bit more - through the eyes of a daughter in law.

I am so ashamed of myself for not taking in the entire series of Home Routes concerts which Laurie has hosted. The last one was unfortunately my first one and I was knocked sideways by how good it was. Laurie does a great job of preparation, treats and libations and making one feel at home. It's a cozy and comfortable space. Colette Cheverie and her accompanist Seth Peters were very good. An eclectic selection of songs , a haunting voice and expert guitar accompaniment , though we all wished Seth had had room to bring along his banjo as well.
I highly recommend a visit to the Home Routes website: www.homeroutes.ca , particularly visit the FAQ page which gives a great idea of the producers of this smart concept. It's interesting to see the list of sponsors including the Canada Council, and provincial arts organizations as well as private corporations - how about a Saskatchewan presence.
